Alarm Scan
The Alarm Scan reports failures in the MEGAMUX PLUS TDM system. Alarm messages are cen-
tered around the MEGAMUX PLUS components reported through the CRT interface. The time,
date, and node of alarm occurrence are included with each message. Alarm messages may be dis-
played or printed from the CRT's printer port.
Status Scan
The Status Scan displays the condition of the MEGAMUX PLUS components at each node by re-
porting critical status items at each node. A general status scan displays the condition of the entire
system; specific scans provide more detailed information on MEGAMUX PLUS components.
Configuration
The Configuration routine selects the operating para-meters for the MEGAMUX PLUS system.
Each channel is specified as carrying synchronous, asynchronous, isochronous, transition-encoded
data, or voice signals. The parameters for each channel, such as an identifying name, baud rate,
clock source, start and stop bits are entered in the Configuration routine. Control signals for each
channel may also be named and set to logical states. Parameters for a channel or an entire system
may be copied to new channels or configurations.
Up to three configurations may be entered and stored. An Activate routine controls which configu-
ration is governing the system at any time. Con-figurations may be activated immediately, at a par-
ticular time daily, on a specified date and time, or stored for future use.
Diagnostic Functions
The Diagnostic Functions routines enable you to monitor the system, send test data through selected
system paths, or use external test equipment in conjunction with loopbacks for troubleshooting. The
diagnostic routines are centered around the MEGAMUX PLUS components. The Status Scan and
Alarm Scan are part of the diagnostic display for each component; data path tests send data and
voice test signals through different system pathways to test system components. The voice output
level of voice channels may be adjusted or calibrated; channel control signals may be manipulated.
Refer to Section 4 of this manual for detailed information Help, Log Off, Reset Password,
and Set (Time/Date).
Refer to Sections 5 through 8 individually for discussion of the Configuration, Alarm Scan,
Status Scan, and Diagnostic Functions routines.
