AUTO FRAME Diagnostics
There are two additional diagnostics that can be performed for this card:
Re-measure Aggregate Clock
Under some rare circumstances, the AUTO FRAME may have powered up before the aggregate
clock source is available. If this occurs, the AUTO FRAME module cannot determine the fre-
quency to base the data frame on.
In firmware revisions newer than A120, 2.20 and 3.20, the top center Status Line will warn you:
NO AGG RATE - RESET WITHIN 2 MIN
If you do not press a key on the console, the node will reset itself.
If you see this and want an immediate reset, you can go to the AUTO FRAME Diagnostics and
select "Re-measure Aggregate Clock".
The following prompt will appear:
WILL RESET MUX AND AFFECT DATA, ARE YOU SURE (Y/N)?
IF "Y" is selected, the reset occurs. This feature provides the convenience of not having to reseat
the AUTO FRAME modules, or power down the node.
Swap AUTO FRAMES
A software selection that allows switching of local or remote AUTO FRAME under the following
conditions:
1.Software redundancy set for redundant AUTO FRAMES.
2.Jumper on the Redundancy Control Card set to redundant.
3. For a remote switch, aggregate link and AUTO FRAME communications must be operational.
The selections are SWAP LOCAL AUTO FRAMES and SWAP REMOTE AUTO FRAMES.
The result of this request will be displayed on the screen.
