Adjusting the needle thread tension
4. Turn the ring with slot (5) to adjust the spring tension:
 The scale (2) of the spring balance (1) indicates the thread tension
5. Hook the spring balance (1) into the rear thread tensioning spring (2).
6. Pull on the spring balance (1) until the thread tensioning spring starts
7. Loosen the knurled nut (7).
8. Turn the screw (6) to adjust the spring tension:
 The scale (2) of the spring balance (1) indicates the thread tension
9. Tighten the knurled nut (7).

• Greater spring tension: Turn the ring with slot (5) counterclockwise.
• Less spring tension: Turn the ring with slot (5) clockwise.
