REAR WHEEL/ SUSPENSION
SHOCK ABSORBER
REMOVAL
ABS rype only:
Remove the muffler (page 2-28) and exhaust pipe
(page 2-29).
Remove t he rear fender (page 2-17).
Support the motorcycle securely o n it s center stand.
ABS type only:
Remove the bo lts and distance collars, then remove
the pre-load adjuster from the right passenger foot-
peg bracket.
Remove the screw and pre-load adjuster cover.
Be careful not to
Remove the screw, adjuster knob, locking ball and
lose the locking ball

Remove the shock absorber lower mounting bolt/
nut.
Remove the fue l tank mounting bolts and lift the
rear end of the fue l tank.
