ELECTRIC STARTER/ STARTER CLUTCH
Install the ignit ion pulse generator rotor whi le align-
ing the wide groove in the rotor with the wide tooth
on the crankshaft.
Apply oil to t he primary drive gear/starter clutch
bolt threads.
Install the washer and ignition pulse generator/pri-
mary drive gear flange bolt.
Shift the transmission into 6th gear and apply rear
brake.
If the engine is out
Tighten the ignition pulse generator/ primary drive
of the frame, shift
gear bolt to the specified torque.

Apply oil to the starter reduction gear, idle gear and
shafts.
Install the starter reduction gear and idle gear onto
the crankcase.
Install the starter reduction gear shaft and idle gear
shaft.
Install the right crankcase cover (page 9-25).
