ELECTRIC STARTER/ STARTER CLUTCH
STARTER MOTOR
REMOVAL
Remove the side cowl and inner half cowl (page 2-
8).
Remove the nut and the starter motor cable from
the starter motor.
Remove the starter motor mounting bolts.
Pull the starter motor out of the crankcase.
DISASSEMBLY
Remove the following:
- Starter motor case bolts
Record the location -
Rear cover assembly
and number of -
Seal ring
shtms -
Shim (s)
Record rhe locatiOn -
Front cover assembly
and number of
Seal ring
shtms. -
Lock washer
- Insulated washer
- Shim (s)
- Armature
