Remove the shift drum center socket bolt and shift
drum center.
Remove the dowel pin from the shift drum.
INSPECTION
Gearshift spindle
Check the gearshift spindle for wear, damage or
bending.
Check the return spring for fatigue or damage.
Dust seal/needle bearing
Check the needle bearing for wear or damage.
Check the dust seal for damage, replace if neces-
sary.
