BATTERY
Always tum the

the battery.

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the seat (page 2-5).
Remove the battery cover by releasing the two trim
clips.
Remove the battery holder band and holder bracket.
Disconnect the negative cable and t hen the positive
cable, and remove the battery.
Install the battery in the reverse order of removal
w ith the proper wiring as shown.
After installing the battery, coat the termina ls with
clea n grease.
VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Measure the battery voltage using a digital multi m-
eter.
VOLTAGE:
Fully charged: 13.0- 13.2V
Under charged: Below 12.3V

Digital multimeter
BATTERY TESTING
Commercially
available in U.S.A .
Always clear the work area of flammable materials
such as gasoline, brake flu id , electrolyte, or cloth
towels when operating the tester. The heat gener-
ated by the tester may cause a fire.
Remove t he battery (page 17-6).
Secu rely connect t he tester's positive
(+)
cable first,
then connect the negative (-) cable.
