MAINTENANCE/TUNE UP
Cooling System Maintenance/Storage
Off Season Storage Procedures
NOTE: Genesis FFI™ models use the same off season storage procedures as all Polaris watercraft, however,
because the EMM and stator housing used on the FFI™ are water-cooled, it is recommended that the Genesis
FFI ™ is stored between 0° and 10° noseup. With the nose level or upright, water inside the EMM and stator hous
ing will drain from the watercraft.
When the craft will not be operated for periods greater than 30 days, the following maintenance items should be
performed:
Fuel System Storage
Flush Engine
Fog Engine
Drain Engine/Freeze Protection
Corrosion Protection
Battery Storage
Complete Lubrication
Cleaning Hull Interior and Exterior
Engine Draining
Engine draining is automatic. You will, however, need to make sure the exhaust system is drained. To do so, start
and briefly rev up engine. This will remove enough water from the exhaust system to prevent any damage from
freezing.
For off season storage, remove water hose going to exhaust manifold to allow engine to drain
completely.
Fuel System Storage
Top off the fuel tank with fresh fuel and add fuel conditioner/stabilizer. It is recommended that the craft be operated
for approximately 10-15 minutes after stabilizing fuel to ensure treated fuel reaches the entire fuel system and
all components. Follow the directions on the container for recommended amount to add for long term storage.
On models equipped with a fuel/water separator, drain any water present in the bowl before storage.

NOTE: Using a fuel stabilizer and topping off the fuel tank eliminates the need to drain the fue\ system.
If you prefer to drain the fuel tank, refer to fuel handling warnings on page 2.26 and use the following procedure:
1.
Drain fuel tank with a siphon or pump and inspect fuel/water separator. Drain if necessary.
2.
Leave fuel cap loose to prevent condensation from forming in fuel tank.
