Engine Monitoring
Service and Utilities Menu -Option 4 - Engine Monitoring
This screen displays the following information:
• Run Time: This field displays the total time the engine has been operated in hours, minutes, and
seconds. Tether-on/Engine-off does not accumulate time on this counter.
• EMM On Time: This field displays a count in hours, minutes, and seconds. It's reset to zero
each time the EMM is "powered-up". The EMM "powers-up" when the tether cord is installed and
the engine is running, or when the the FFI™ EMM Service Power Connector is installed, starting
the counter.
SENSORS
• Air: Displays air temperature under the engine cover in volts, degrees F, and degrees C. Unplug
the sensor to see this value go to maximum high. Jump the sensor leads together to see the val
ue go to maximum low. When operating correctly, voltage and temperature increase or decrease
together. NOTE: Voltage values for the sensors reflect the voltage at the analog to digital con
verter inside the EMM. Voltages measured at the sensor will be substantially different.
• Water: Displays engine water temperature in volts, degrees F and degrees C. Unplug sensor to
see this value go to maximum high. Jump sensor leads together to see the value go to maximum
low. When operating correctly, voltage and temperature increase or decrease together. Use this
data to verify S.L.O.W. ™ or overheat warnings.
• EMM: Displays temperature of injector driver circuits inside the EMM in volts, degrees F, and
degrees C. You cannot manually alter this sensor reading.
• TPS Cal: Shows sensor value in percent of throttle plate opening. Slowly move the throttle lever
and watch this value change. Value should progressively increase and decrease from 0% (idle)
to approximately 85% (WOT), without gaps (large jumps) or plateaus (flat spots).
• TPS Act: Shows sensor voltage in relation to throttle plate opening. Slowly move the throttle
lever and watch this value change. Value should progressively increase and decrease.
