Alternate Method Of Measuring Nozzle
Following is an alternate method for checking nozzle
centering.
1.
Perform steps 1 and 2 on page NO TAG to center
handlebars.
2.
Measure distance from rear-most edge of steering
nozzle (or trim nozzle) to stationary pump nozzle
(extension housing) with a 6" steel rule or a vernier
caliper. Measure at the same point on both left and
right sides along horizontal center line.
The
distance should be equal. See III. 1.

Rear View Of Pump Nozzle
Measure on horizontal center line from
rear of steering or trim nozzle to station
ary nozzle. Distance should be equal.

Minor adjustments can be made using the steering
cable rod end(s). Loosen jam nut on rod end(s).
Remove end from top of steering nozzle. Turn rod
end in or out to adjust.
Reinstall rod end, apply
Loctite 242 (Blue) and tighten bolt to specifications.
See III. 2.
The cable must be threaded into the rod end a minimum
of 3/8" (1 Omm). Do not attempt major adjustments with
the rod ends.
