Table 6–15: COMM Port Communication Modes
Mode
ID #
1
Quiet Mode – used when port is communicating with a computer
program, such as APIcom. Suppresses reports, and warning messages.
These are available, but a command must be issued to receive them.
2
Computer Mode – inhibits echoing of characters, and the edit keys. Used
when the port is communicating with a computer program, such as
APIcom.
4
When enabled, the serial port requires a password before it will respond.
The only command that is active is the help screen (? CRLF). See
Section 6.3.3 to set up the password.
16
The Hessen protocol is used in some European countries to acquire data
from the M300E.
1024
Configures the Com Port for RS-485 style communication. RS-485 mode
has precedence over Multidrop mode if both are enabled.
32
Multidrop protocol – modifies the default T-API protocol to allow the use
of an ID number in every command – used in multi-instrument
configurations with a single serial communications link.
64
Enables the sending of a modem initialization string at power-up.
Asserts certain lines in the RS-232 port to enable the modem to
communicate.
8
Configures the com port to support ethernet interface.
128
Fixes certain types of parity errors at certain Hessen protocol
installations.
256
Disables XON/XOFF flow control.
