Possible cause
1. The dispenser
needle is
completely
clogged.
2. The plug
(→ Fig. 10-4)
is
detached.
1. Height of the
dispenser
needle is set
incorrectly.
2. The dispenser
needle diameter
has not been
selected
appropriately
for the coverslip
mountant used.
3. The
coverslipping
parameters are
incorrect.
The height of the
dispenser needle is
set incorrectly or the
dispenser needle was
inserted incorrectly.
Malfunctions and Troubleshooting
Remedy
1. The dispenser needle is partially or completely clogged
by dried coverslip mountant. Replace the clogged
needle with a new one of the same size.
2. Insert the plug.
1. Set the height of the dispenser needle correctly.
2. and 3. The dispenser needle size and coverslipping
parameters have to be selected in accordance with
the list of recommendations of various coverslip
mountants
(→ p. 65 – 5.12 Recommendation
for parameter setting (beginning with firmware
3.01.04))
or be determined as in
Determing the optimum parameter setting (MENU
A+B)).
The height of the dispenser needle is set too low, so that
it scratches the specimen when coverslip mountant is
being applied. The height of the dispenser needle has to be
readjusted to the correct height
the dispenser needle height relative to the specimen slide
outfeed).
Note
Notice! Make sure the dispenser needle is securely in
place (clamp is in the retaining plate).
