3.7 REPLACING THE CUTTER BLADE

Be sure to read and understand the safety warnings before handling the printer.
Describes the replacement time and replacement method for the cutter blade.
(1) Replacement time
Replace the cutter blade if...
...the media cannot be clearly cut.
•
Failure in cutting media, results in "Paper Cut Error" on the operation panel.
...fuzz, etc. appears on the cut section.
...the cutter's life cycle has ended. See " MaintenanceRecordPlot"

(3) Replacement steps
To replace the cutter blade, follow the steps below.
Step 1 : Verify that the plotter is ON.
Step 2 : Press the [Menu] key on the operation panel to display the setup menu.
Notes
• For key operations on the setup menu, refer to "Menu setup on the operation panel. "
Step 3 : Go to the "CutterChange" menu.
Step 4 : Select "CutterChange: YES", and press the [Enter] key on the operation panel.
Result: The cutter change process starts.
Step 5 : Open the front cover.
Result:
•
The carriage moves to the cutter change position.
•
"Cutter Changed?" will be displayed on the operation panel.
Notes
• Leaving the carriage at the cutter change position for more than 10 minutes, will result in head clogging.
