Setting the basic parameters in SINUMERIK Commissioning
6.4.1
Overview of NC and drive communication
After basic commissioning in "SINAMICS Startdrive" in the TIA Portal, you must make the
following settings in SINUMERIK Commissioning to allow communication between the drive
and the NC:
● Assign the general machine data (relevant for communication via PROFINET with the drive)
● Assign the axis machine data (relevant for transferring setpoint and actual values)
● Assign the axes
● Assign the components to the drive objects (e.g. assignment of the Motor Modules, motors
and encoders and their assignment to the NC machine axes)
When you commission an S120 drive system, SINUMERIK Commissioning supports you with
device configuration, assignment of the components to the drive objects and axis assignment.
On an S210 drive system, you must perform manual parameter assignment in SINUMERIK
Commissioning.
Note
The configuration in SINUMERIK Commissioning must match that of the configuration in the
TIA Portal.
6.4.2
Assignment of the machine data
Some of the machine data settings that you make in the SINUMERIK Commissioning tool differ
in the S120 and S210 drive systems.
While the S120 drive system is recognized in SINUMERIK Commissioning under Drive system,
and you can automatically read out and display the hardware configuration, for the S210 drive
system you must make all of the settings manually.
