3.5 Check the NC and IPC connection of the MCU and configure
When supplied from the factory, the NC/PLC and IPC components of the SINUMERIK MCU
have no network settings. The MCU components are integrated in the internal network;
however, they still do not have a valid IP address to establish communication.
Note
If you install the PCU Base for IPC software, the network settings for the MCU components NC/
PLC and IPC with IP address 192.168.214.241 are automatically configured.
Further information for installing PCU Base is provided in Chapter "Installing and setting up
PCU Base for IPC (Page 175)".
Use the Siemens communication settings application to check or configure network settings.

Precondition
The Siemens communications settings application is installed on the computer.
Note
The application is a system tool and part of TIA Portal.
This is how you check or configure the network settings of MCU components using the Siemens
communication settings application
1. Under Windows, select "Start > Control panel" > "All control panel elements".
2. Click "Communication settings".
The "Siemens communication settings" window opens.
3. In the navigation, click on
"Modules > Intel (R) I210 Gigabit Backplane Connection > Address".
The available network data is displayed in the right-hand area.
