Basic commissioning

Commissioning steps
The following sequence is recommended for commissioning:
1. Commission the encoder.
2. Commission all linear motors with encoder in operation.
3. Insert the drive data set DDS into the screen form and select option "As copy of DDS: 0".
4. Activate the torque precontrol by setting p1402.4 = 1 in DDS 1.
You require the subsequent settings to configure the RAILCTRL Technology Extension.
Adapting the drive basis configuration
Set p0009 = 3 for the drive basis configuration.
In this state, you can make the following basic adaptations for the individual drive objects.
Alternatively, you can work offline.
Setting the data set switchover
The linear motor paths are configured so they can traverse closed-loop controlled and open-
loop controlled. The closed-loop-controlled path sections must have an encoder and can be
operated with two separate data sets. You set the data set switchover as follows when
parameterizing the SINAMICS S120:
● Data set 0 is configured for open-loop controlled operation (p1300[0] = 20).
● Data set 1 is configured for closed-loop controlled operation (p1300[1] = 21).
Note
If only closed-loop or open-loop controlled traversing is used, then you do not require the other
data set.
