To reboot the instrument's software:
1.
Ensure that MassLynx software is closed.
2.
Insert a short length (about 7.5 cm) of PEEK™ tubing, or a similar object, into the reset
button aperture at the top, right-hand side of the instrument's front panel.
3.
Remove the PEEK tubing from the reset button aperture.
4.
Wait until the rebooting sequence ends before starting the MassLynx software.
Tip:
An alert sounds at the end of the rebooting sequence.

Leaving the mass spectrometer ready for operation

Leave the mass spectrometer in Operate mode except in the following cases:
When performing routine maintenance
When changing the source
When leaving the mass spectrometer unused for a long period
In these instances, put the mass spectrometer in Standby mode. See the online Help for details.
2.4.1

Emergency shutdown of the mass spectrometer

Warning:
below. The instrument's power switch does not isolate it from the main power supply.
Notice:
To avoid losing data, reboot the instrument as described on
lost when you perform an emergency shutdown.
To shut down the instrument in an emergency:
1.
Operate the power button on the front of the instrument.
2.
Disconnect the power cable from the instrument's rear panel.
