Description
248–8000. Default = 1452. Max Packet Size is used by all
transport types except Smooth Streaming. For Transport
Stream the UDP packet always contains an integral number
of 188-byte Transport Stream packets. This number of
188-byte packets will equal the Max Packet Size divided by
188, rounded down to the nearest integral number. For
example, if Max Packet Size = 1452, the number of
Transport Stream packets in a UDP packet is 7: 1452 / 7 =
7.732. Max Packet Size is also used for RTMP Chunk Size.
Note: If FEC is enabled (on the Encoder Configuration >
Streams page) the Max Packet Size allowed will be 1500 bytes
in order to prevent fragmentation on the network.
Note: When streaming to Quicktime players, a maximum
packet size less than 1000 may cause audio dropouts. For
optimum performance when using an AmiNET130
Transport Stream, Max Packet Size should not exceed 1480.
Note: reducing the default size will increase the CPU loading
especially for Transport Stream. If CPU load approaches
100% the unit will go into Overloaded Mode (see the
Avoiding Overload Conditions topic for more information).
If enabled, streaming is stopped when a video input problem
is detected. Default = Disabled.
0–30. Default = 8. The number of closed caption frames
(Access Units) placed in each RTP packet. Closed caption
frames are small and multiple AUs can be placed in one RTP
packet to improve bandwidth efficiency—at the cost of
additional latency.
0–202. Default = 200.
This option is typically used with Enable Forward Error
Correction (FEC) on a Stream. It enables calculation of
checksums for all transmitted UDP packets—but can also
consume network bandwidth. Any change to this parameter
will reset the encoder. Default = disabled.
