Audible Alert and Operation Indicator

A user adjustable tone indicates operation. U17A detects the presence of a signal
and asserts the signal SPKR1. SPKR1 signal enables a piezo buzzer driver circuit
that has a volume adjustment RV1. Alert tones override the operation indication in
volume via SPKR2 signal, driven by the Machine Control board.

Valve Drivers

Pulse and hold circuits driven by the Machine Control board control the suction,
syphon, and tissue release valves. U6, U3, and U19 provide drive current sinks.
Resistor combinations determine the pulse and hold currents.

Power and Other Signal Connections

The +24 VAMP power supply provides circuit power for the Ultrasonics board.
Sub-regulators U27 and U8 condition the power for the ±15 VUSB and +5 VUS.
The +24VX power supply also provides power to the valves, cooling fans, and
pumps.
Cooling sensor, footswitch, suction pump level, irrigation pump level, and cooling
pump level signals all pass from the Machine Control board to their respective
devices by way of connectors on this board.
The CUSA EXcel uses an OEM medical grade 600 watt power supply with an
input voltage range of 88 to 264 VAC. The supply has two individually regulated
24 VDC outputs. This power supply is an enhanced leakage current version with
earth leakage of less than 150 A. This supply is a UL recognized component for
Canada and the U.S. and is CE labeled.
