CUSA EXcel Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator System Service Manual

I.V. Pole

Attached to the right side of the console, it supports the sterile irrigation fluid
container. You can raise or lower the pole; you can also rotate the pole 90° in the
lower position.

Control Panel

Mounted on the arm, the control panel allows the user to control all system
functions. The next page presents control panel details.

Arm and Arm Housing

Supports the control panel.
Allows the control panel to pivot 135° to allow users to see the control panel
from most of the operating room.
Adjustable—lifts to allow a CUSA Electrosurgical Module (CEM) generator
to sit on top of the console body, under the control panel.
The Arm Housing covers the arm attachment along the console body side panel.

Housing for Irrigation Pump Head and Suction Pinch Valve

The prominent black area at the top of the console body includes the following
features:
The irrigation pump head and irrigation tube pathway (marked with blue
lines)
The suction pinch valve and suction tube pathway (marked with a light green
line).

Console Body

The main body of the console unit contains the electronics, pumps, and other
working components. A later page presents console body details.

Shelf for Suction Canister

The shelf provides a place to put the hospital provided suction canister.

Casters

Unlocked, both front and rear casters roll easily and rotate freely.
Front casters have brake locks that stop the wheels from rolling.
Rear casters have direction locks; when locked, casters remain fixed in one
direction.
