Lift up the platen for paper.

• The platen for paper is held in place securely by
magnets. Lift up as described below.
(1) Insert the provided ink receiving spacers into
the locations indicated by red arrows
between the platen for paper and the main
unit.
(2) Push up the platen for paper using the ink-
receiving spacers, then lift up.
Platen for paper
• These are held by magnets. Take care that they do
not spring up when removing.
• Do not force the ink receiving spacers when
inserting them. Otherwise there is a risk of
damaging parts.
Pull the raised platen for paper toward you

and remove from the rear platen.
• Store the removed platen in the platen holder
underneath.
• The parts removed will be needed when using the
platen for paper again. Keep in a safe place.
Attach the fabric retainers.

• Engage into the ink guard F and rear platen. The
fabric retainers are located on the left and right.

changing the platen.
• If the platen is dirty after printing, clean before
removing.(

• Take care not to get ink on your clothing or hands.

Open the front cover.

Remove the fabric retainers.

• Remove from the station side (where the carriage
is located).
• Remove the ink receiving spacers if they are
fitted.(

Remove the platen for paper from the

platen holder.
Align the end of the platen with the right

edge of the rear platen, then push in.
