Frame. Ehsurethat the link securing the centre stand spring is correctly positioned
i n the frame lug.
P i v o t Bolt. Fit the gearbox into the frame and insert the pivot bolt. Replace the
bolt nut, finger tight.
Rear Engine Plates.
Re-position t o engine and frame,(piate with adjuster fitted
on the R.H.).
Fit the plate cover and then enter the studs (nut fitted
a t
one end)
from the L.H. side. D o n o t omit the footrest spindle and lower rear stud and distance
pieces. Fit the R.H. stud nuts and securely tighten
a l l
except the adjuster securing
nut which should be only finger tight at this stage.
B a t t e r y C a r r i e r t o Engine Plate Bolt.
Re-fit.
Oil T a n k and A l r Cleaner Unit. Fit the air cleaner t o the oil tank and shroud
and replace the assembly t o the frame, fitting the three securing nuts and bolts.
Re-connect the air cleaner
t o
the carburetter. Remove the plug from the oil block
and refit the block
t o
crankcase using
a
new joint washer.
Speedometer Cable. Insert the cable end into the gearbox, ensuring that
it
mates
with the driving spindle, and then tighten up the attachment nut.
C l u t c h Cable. Connect cable nipple t o clutch operating arm and screw the cable
adjuster into the inner cover lug.
R.H.
Footrest and Spindle.
Insert the spindle through the engine plates from
the R.H. side ensuring that the distance piece is correctly located. Fit the short
distance piece between the primary inner cover and engine plate over the footrest
spindle.
P r l m a i y Chaincase, C l u t c h and Engine Sprocket.
Replace as described on
page 90, but before replacing the chaincase outer cover, check the primary chain
adjustment. If out of adjustment, correct as described on page 94 and then tighten
the adluster stud and the pivot bolt nut.
L.H.
Footrest.
Fit t o spindle and securely tighten the nut.
t o o t b r a k e Pedal.
Grease the pedal spindle and fit the pedal. Replace the spring
1
washer and secure with the nut. Connect operating rod t o pedal, placing the plain
washer, over the rod end, and secure with
a
split pin.

Exhaust System.
Re-fit the exhaust pipe and silencer assemblies.
