R E M O Y ! N t THE CAMWHEEL
C r a n k s h a f t Pinion.
Again a special tool must be employed t o withdraw this
gear from the crankshaft.

clearly illustrates i t s application.
T o assemble
- t o t h e gear, withdraw the collar "A" from the jaws, fit the plug "CH.into the
crankshaft end and then
fit
the jaws
"0"
over the gear.
Close the jaws
and re-fit the collar t o retain them in posirion.
N o w t u r n the tommy bar
clockwise when the gear w i l l be drawn f r o m the shaft. D o n o t attempt t o shock
the p a r OH the shaft by striking the extractor tommy bar w i t h
a
hammer.
This
rneth?d w i l l only cause damageto the extractor jaws.
Remove the key from the
shaft.
C y l i n d e r H e a d a n d R o c k e r Boxes. This unit should be removed as an assembly.
Unscrew the four rocker o i l drain adaptors and the eight cylinder head holding bolts.
when t h e u n i t can be removed from the cylinder block.
