Removing Headlamp and Nacelle
H o r n .
Disconnect both leads.
D i p s w i t c h L e a d t o L i g h t Switch.
Disconnect at the light switch (No.
2
position).

Assembly.
Re-assemble in t h e reverse manner.

R E M O V A L (A.C. E q u i p p e d M o d e l s )

Dismantle as f o r TlOO
& TllO
t o "Rear Nacelle Retaining Screws" and proceed
as
follows:
L i g h t i n g a n d I g n i t i o n Switch. Unscrew the small grub screw at the side o f the
plastic switch lever and pull the lever away f r o m the switch. Unscrew t h e brass nut
around the switch body and remove the name disc. Unscrew the t w o switch t o
nacelle retaining screws and push the switch through into. the nacelle.
H o r n .
Disconnect the black lead f r o m t h e h o r n terminal.
S p e e d o m e t e r .
Unscrew the speedometer drive cable at the head and detach
the speedometer light.
A m m e t e r .
Disconnect the b r o w n leads at the ammeter; one from the
L.H
terminal and t w o from the R.H. terminal.
NOTE
If it is intended t o remove the t o p u n i t only,
it is
unnecessary t o proceed any further.
If the forks are t o be removed however, it w i l l be necessary t o disconnect the blue
lead from the dipper switch t o switch position number
3
and also the red and black
pilot light lead.
Both these leads are fitted w i t h snap connectors.
Assembly.
Re-assemble i n the reverse manner.

BATTERY
I
During charging, water i s lost by gzssing and evaporation and this must be replaced
to maintain the battery i n a healthy condition.
Once a month o r more often in
Warm climates, the level of the electrolyte i n the cells of the battery must be
examined; if necessary, distilled water must be added t o b i i n g the e~?ctrolyte just
level w i t h the top of the separators.
Never use a naked light when examining the condition o f the cells, as there
is
a
danger o f igniting the gas coming from the active materials.
The correct acid level device consists of a central tube w i t h a perforated flange
which rests o n a ledge in the filling orifice.
W h e n topping-up a battery fitted w i t h
these devices, pour distilled water around the flange (not down the tube) until no
