These lights are fitted w i t h a
6
volt
3
w a t t Lucas No.
988
bulb, f o r all markets.
T o
replace t h e bulb, unscrew the t w o screws on either side of the r i m and remove t h e
r i m and glass.
The bulb can the11 be detached by pressing it i n and turning t o t h e
left.
Replace t h e bulb and the r i m and glass i n the reverse o r d e r t o the removal.
R E A R L A M P
Access t o r e a r light bulbs i s gained by removing the t w o moulded cover retaining
screws.
T h e correct replacemerit for the stop tail lamp i s Lucas No.

This bulb has offset securing pins t o prevent incorrect insertion i n t o
t h e bulb holder and t o ensure that the higher wattage filament
is
illuminated when
the brake pedal i s depressed.
In the event of failure of the
6
watt filament do n o t
change t h e cables over t o obtain rear lighting from the
18
watt filament as the heat
generated w i l l probably burn the plastic lens.
H E A D L A M P A N D T O P N A C E L L E
UNIT
R E M O V A L ( D y n a m o Equipped Models)
B a t t e r y .
Disconnect the battery positive lead.
S t e e r i n g D a m p e r .
Unscrew and remove.
H e a d l a m p .
Unscrew the retaining screw at the top of the headlamp retaining
ring and ease the headlamp away from the ring, pulling from the top.
Disconnect
the earth w i r e (black) from the bulb holder frame, and the t w o headlight leads (black)
at the snap connectors.
R e t a i n i n g Ring.
Remove by unscrewing the t w o small screws at the sides of the
ring.
M o t i f s .
Unscrew the four screws and t w o nuts securing the motifs and remove.
R e a r N a c e l l e R e t a i n i n g Screws.
Remove the t w o small screws and nuts holding
the rear of t h e t o p unit t o the fork covers, being careful not t o lose the nuts.
F i v e P o i n t C o n n e c t o r .
Disconnect all leads at the connector.
If the t o p unit
only
i s
being removed, leave the connector i n position on the stanchion.
If however.
it
i s intended t o remove the fork assembly, remove the connector from the stanchion
and disconnect the leads so that the connector remains w i t h the t o p unit.
S p e e d o m e t e r .
Unscrew the speedometer drive cable at the head.
