Remove all traces of carbon from the upper wall of the bores

and then wash thoroughly in a cleaning solvent.
Check the amount of wear in
the upper part of t h e bore by comparing it w i t h the measurements i n the lower.

Anything over 0.005'' (0.13 rnrn.) w i l l denote that re-boring is necessary.

check can be made by checking the piston ring gap i n various sections of the cylinder

bores. Normally t h e wear at the bottom of the bore i s very light.
