F A U L T F I N D I N G A N D M A I N T E N A N C E
Occasionally remove and clean t h e petrol f i l t e r gauze f r o m inside the banjo con-
nection.
If flooding occurs check this gauze t o see that it is i n good condition and
then remove t h e float chamber cover, float and float needle.
Examine f c r d i r t o r
damage o n the needle and the needle seating.
W h e n replacing t h e float see that t h e
n a r r o w hinge leg is uppermost, as this operates t h e needle, and d o not forget t o
replace t h e float spindle bush.
Make sure that the cover plate and washer are
clean and i n good condition before re-assembl~ng.
Erratic slow running may be caused by air leaks at the flange and the flange should
be checked w i t h a straight edge, and i f necessary very carefully trued up w i t h
a
fine
file o r emery cloth used on a flat surface such
as
plate glass.
W h e n refitting t h e
carburetter always use a new p.aper joint washer and then tighten the fixing nuts
evenly.

T.l10 M O D E L
W h e n using the T.l10 model at speeds below 40 m.p.h, the ignition should be partly
retarded by moving the ignition control lever, on the left handlebar, approximately
115 of i t s travel from the stop.
("Fully Advanced" position).

Premium grade fuel may be unobtainable i n certain t e r r i -
tories overseas and i n such cases l o w e r compression ratio pistons should be fitted.
l i t h e machine i s used exclusively for long, fast runs, i t is advisable t o fit Champion
L.A.ll sparking plugs.
