E5500 Phase Noise Measurement System Version A.02.00
Chapter
15, "Evaluating Your Measurement Results" contains
troubleshooting information to be used after the measurement has
been made, and a plot has been obtained.
NOTE: When making phase noise measurements it is important to
keep your equipment connected until the measurements have been
made, all problems corrected, and the results have been evaluated to
make sure that the measurement is valid. If the equipment is
disconnected before the results have been fully evaluated, it may be
difficult to troubleshoot the measurement.
The first thing to check if problems occur is the instrument
connections and settings as this is the most common error. It is also
important to make sure the levels are correct into the Agilent 70420A
Phase Detector Inputs.
