Aperture
Note: Aperture usage and any instruction to change the aperture applies only to luminescence methods.
The Aperture refers to the interior well mask within the instrument used to reduce cross talk from neighboring
wells in the plate.
There are two Apertures: 96-well and 384-well. Lower density plates (6-, 12-, 24- and 48-well plates) should use
the 96-well aperture. The instrument comes with the 96-well Aperture preinstalled.
The instrument will indicate which Aperture is currently installed. This status can be viewed in the Tools icon
from the menu bar.
To change the Aperture, follow the instructions in the software.
1.
The currently installed Aperture is displayed at the top of the window. To change the Aperture, select Load
96 or Load 384 as desired.
2.
The door will open automatically.
3.
Place the Aperture Plate with the corresponding Aperture loaded with metal pins up and toward the back
of the plate, exactly as indicated in Figure 74. Place the Aperture in the front position of the Aperture Plate,
with the silver screws facing upright, exactly as indicated in Figures 74 and 75.
4.
Follow the on-screen steps.
