In this mode, the F4–04AD module requires 32-point discrete input points. These
inputs provide:
S
individual active channel bits for each channel.
S
a digital representation of the analog signal in various data formats.
S
individual sign bits for each channel.
S
individual broken transmitter detection bits for each channel.
Since all input points are automatically mapped into V-memory, it is very easy to
determine the location of the two data words that will be assigned to the module.

Within these data word locations, the individual bits represent specific information
about the analog signal.
The first four input bits (0–3) of the upper
V-memory location indicate the active
channel. Each bit corresponds to a
single channel to indicate four possible
active channels.
