10C-19 Immobilizer Control System:
Immobilizer Control Module Removal and
Installation
Removal
1) Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2) Remove driver air bag (inflator) module from
steering wheel referring to "Driver Air Bag (Inflator)
Module Removal and Installation in Section 8B".
3) Remove steering wheel referring to "Steering Wheel
Removal and Installation in Section 6B".
4) Remove steering column upper cover, steering
column lower cover, contact coil and combination
switch assembly referring to "Contact Coil and
Combination Switch Assembly Removal and
Installation in Section 6B".
5) If coupler is covered with Immobilizer Control
Module cover (1), loosen and remove its three
mounting bolts (2) using center punch (3). If not, go
to the next step.
NOTE
Use care not to damage Immobilizer Control
Module and other parts with center punch.
6) Disconnect coupler at Immobilizer Control Module.
7) Remove Immobilizer Control Module (1) from
steering lock assembly (2).
Repair Instructions
Installation
1) Install Immobilizer Control Module (1) on steering
S3RH0AA306001
lock assembly (2).
2) Connect coupler at Immobilizer Control Module.
3) To install Immobilizer Control Module cover, set the
cover over coupler, and then tighten three new bolts
(1) until head of each bolt is broken off. If it is
unnecessary to install Immobilizer Control Module
cover, go to the next step.
4) Install combination switch assembly, contact coil,
steering column lower cover, and steering column
upper cover referring to "Contact Coil and
Combination Switch Assembly Removal and
Installation in Section 6B".
5) Install steering wheel referring to "Steering Wheel

Removal and Installation in Section 6B".
6) Install driver air bag (inflator) module on steering
wheel referring to "Driver Air Bag (Inflator) Module
Removal and Installation in Section 8B".
7) Connect negative (–) cable at battery.
