Program 15 Overview
This program specifies operational options on a line by line basis.
Code 0: Automatic Release (AR) on Voice Mail or Voice Calls
On loop start Exchange lines, some Exchanges send the AR (Automatic Release) or CPC
(Calling party Control) signal after an external party hangs up (typically 1~15 seconds) to
disconnect a loop start line. An AR/CPC signal is a 95 or 450-millisecond open of the
Exchange line loop. If the Exchange sends this signal after an external party hangs up and
before the VM/auto attendant transfers a call, D tone will be sent to the voice mail port
(Program
on all voice calls.
When a station is disconnected from an Exchange line call by the AR/CPC signal, its LCD
will display "CO LINE HANG UP". The line can be disconnected anytime by the AR/CPC
signal during the "talk state" of a call. Exchange line calls disconnected by the AR/CPC
signal will be represented on the SMDR report by a "
The Voice Mail device must recognise the "D" tone as a disconnect signal.
Important! This option cannot always be used because some Exchange lines may send
Code 1: Exchange Outgoing Signal
Each line can be independently assigned to have either Dial Pulse (DP) or Dual-tone
Multi-frequency (DTMF) signalling on outgoing calls toward the local exchange.
Code 2: Line Pulse (DP) Rate
If a line is assigned DP signalling, the rate can be either 20 or 10 pulses per second (PPS).
Some local exchange do not reliably accept 20 PPS.

unreliable AR/CPC signalling or no AR/CPC signalling for loop start lines.
Enable AR/CPC-Hold detect on loop start lines only after testing that the
Exchangesends the AR/CPC-Hold signal.
The AR or CPC is sometimes referred to as the Disconnect Timer/Disconnect
Clear or the k break relay.
If a line is set for DP operation, the 7RQH 'LDO 6HOHFW button must be
programmed on stations that must send DTMF tones over the lines.
