Program *43 Overview
This program series defines the outgoing digit translation. Dependant on the selection made,
the system will either look at the first, or the first two digits dialled. These digits can then
either be translated or added to when sent out to line. A maximum of four digits can be added.
Program *43-1 defines whether "Single Digit Access" or a "Linked Numbering Scheme" will
be used. It can also disable (turn off) outgoing digit translation. Program *43-2 allocates the
actual translation information. The options available for both are as follows:
Program *43-1
Data = 0 disables/turns off outgoing digit translation.
Data = 1 enables a 'Linked Numbering Scheme' where the system will look at the first two
digits of the number dialled by the user and can insert up to a maximum of four additional
digits in front of it. One example would be for the digits added to flag access to an exchange
line group prior to the dialled number being sent out to line. E.G. the digits to be inserted
could be access to a specific group of TIE Lines). I.E. If the user dialled 2100, the system
would look at the 21 and would insert 808 for Exchange line Group 08. This would allow the
user to dial 2100 and have the system access an available TIE Line in group 08 prior to the
2100 being sent to line
Data = 2 enables 'Single Digit Access'. As a two digit entry is required in *43-1, any
connotation of the number selected e.g. 7 needs to be allowed for (i.e. 70 - 79. Even though
the user does not actually dial the 0 - 9).
