Check for undesired lines in the tile pattern area of the facsimile test charts. Move the slider on the screen up and
down to check that there are no undesired lines for the five tile pattern colors.
The sensors are numbered from 1 on the left-hand side of the screen to 5 on the right-hand side.
Undesired lines should be identified by visually identifying undesired lines of one or more pixels and then checking
that the differences in values with adjacent pixels are less than 8 when analyzed using Photoshop "Histogram". If
the value of any of the differences is 8 or more, repeat the process from step (5).
(8) These values can be checked using Scanning Master Pro Color if Photoshop is not installed.
"Shading" in the same way as for undesired color line removal, and perform individual shading for
sensors affected by undesired lines.
(9) Continue adjusting until there are no longer any undesired black lines at any of the sensors.
(10) Set all the DIP switches on the scanner to "OFF".
If undesired black lines persist at the same positions even after repeating the undesired line removal procedure
several times, it is possible that the glass is scratched or there is dirt inside the sensor unit (e.g., Selfoc lens
upper section). Check accordingly.
If the shading paper is scratched or dirty, replace it with a new paper.
The shading paper must always be set with the glossy side face up.
