Math

The Series 3700 has three built-in math calculations that are accessed from the MATH menu:
mX+b, percent, and reciprocal (1/X).
NOTE
NOTE

mX+b

This math operation lets you manipulate normal display readings (X) mathematically according
to the following calculation:
Where:
NOTE
mX+b REL
The mX+b function can be used to manually establish a REL value. To do this, set the scale
factor (M) to 1 and set the offset (b) to the REL value. Each subsequent reading will be the
difference between the actual input and the REL value (offset).
Document Number: 3700S-901-01 Rev. A / August 2007
The settings shown in the menu tree are the factory default settings.
The various instrument operations, including Math, are performed on the input signal
in a sequential manner.
X is the normal display reading.
m and b are the user-entered constants for scale factor and offset.
Y is the displayed result.
The REL'ed reading of the input signal (if using REL) is used by the mX+b calculation.
Section 5: Relative, Math, and dB
Reset DC volts only.
Set the rel level.
Enable REL.
Call the configuration myconfig.
Set Channels 1001 to 1030 to use
