Replacing the torque limiter
When using the take-up unit and tension bar to take up
the media, you can replace the torque limiter with the
motor direct-connection unit.
• When setting the media using the torque limiter
and tension bar and if you want to attach more
counter weights than the specified limit, replace it
with the motor direct-connection unit.
• For printer, you can change to winding method
using the tension bar while the media is being
wound up by the take-up device.
In that case, do not replace the torque limiter with
the motor direct-connection unit.
• When using the motor direct-connection unit, you
can only use the winding method that uses both
tension bar and take-up device. You cannot
change the winding method during printing.

Remove the torque limiter.

• Remove the thumbscrew, and then remove the
torque limiter.
Attach the motor direct-connection unit .

(1) Insert so that the projection of the motor
direct-connection unit match the groove of
the take-up device.

(2) Attach it so that the tip of the shaft of the
take-up device matches the surface of the
motor direct-connection unit.
• As shown in the figure, attach it so that the tip of
the shaft of the take-up device matches the
surface of the motor direct-connection unit. If the
tip of the shaft and the surface of the motor directly
connected unit does not match, the take-up of the
media will not run well.

(3) Use the thumb screw to fix the motor direct-
connection unit
• When replace from Motor direct-connection unit to
Torque limiter, replace it in the same manner.
