The
INPUT/INSERTS
reassign the label for a slider input to a different TriCaster audio control by name, or
to insert (or remove) a new (initially unassigned) control column on the surface.
Controls for unused inputs or outputs can be removed from the surface, or if you wish,
you can re-order controls using the Remove and Insert features. To insert a new
control strip on the surface, proceed as follows
1.
Make sure
press the
INSERTS
2.
Rotate the knob for Input one clockwise, cycling
through optional settings until the label above the knob
says Insert.
At this point, the small
knob begins to flash, to indicate that if you wish to confirm
your selection you must press it (otherwise, press
to cancel the operation and revert to the original
selection).
3.
Press the
SEL
This action inserts a new, unassigned control, pushing the original Artist Mix
control group to the right to make room for the addition.
4.
Slowly rotate the same knob again – this time, you could choose an option
(such as Master 1 option), and then press
TriCaster's Input 1a (left) input channel. Instead, just select Remove this time
and press
Hint: Normally, if you insert a source that already appears elsewhere in the layout, the
inserted control group is kept and the original is removed.
By default, Artist Mix presents control groups for each TriCaster audio source in their
natural order from left to right. It can be very desirable however, to lock one or more
sources in a fixed position, thus keeping it in view on the control surface at all times
despite any use of the navigation buttons.

Can the switcher have a background still with PPT slides over top rightside of frame, and then have live camera feed on left?

Yes, the NewTek TriCaster Mini can display a background still with PowerPoint slides on the right side of the frame and a live camera feed on the left. It supports compositing live and video-on-demand inputs, including PowerPoint slides from a connected computer. The system allows for chroma key operations and mixing multiple video sources, enabling such a layout.

my tricaster only has one KEY option and two DSK options and 4 Mix Effect options. is there a way to add more of these items into my tricaster layout?

The TriCaster Mini includes Key layers in M/Es, which function similarly to Downstream Key (DSK) layers but are embedded upstream in the Mix Effect (M/E) output. However, the provided context does not mention the ability to add more KEY, DSK, or Mix Effect options beyond what is already available in the system.

Thank you for answering my question. There is a buzz on the output of our Tricaster410. Not sure why this is happening now.

A possible cause of a buzz or distortion on the output of a NewTek TriCaster Mini could be incorrect audio gain settings in the Output Configuration. Specifically, the gain controls for STREAM 1 and STREAM 2 may need to be adjusted. Setting the gain to -20 can eliminate distortion and align the output level with the TriCaster MASTER.
