17.3.2 THE CONTEXT MENU
Entries in the lister have a context menu,
shown when you right-click an item
(Figure 290).
Macros can be recorded, as we've seen, of played, renamed,
deleted, copied, cloned, or exported. The folder context menu
supports, in addition, Play All, Stop All, Paste, and Import
operations.
Import and Export are noteworthy features. These can be used to
share macros with multiple users and systems, but provide another
important opportunity.
A good deal of time can be spent preparing complex macros
FIGURE 290
designed to support your production. It would be a shame for these
to be lost unintentionally through some mishap, as by some tidy soul deleting a folder
on your day off (or perhaps by performing a System Restore). For this reason, we
encourage you to use the Export feature to prepare a backup archive of your
painstakingly designed macros. (This is quite easy to do, since Export of entire folders
is supported, as is multi-selection.)
SECTION 17.4 MACROS AND HOTSPOTS
On-screen HotSpots (see also Section 8.2.7) are
another way to activate TriCaster's powerful
macros. Live action on-stage can trigger multiple
macros based on HotSpots activity detected.
This is very powerful technology – the practical
(and whimsical) applications are limited only by
your imagination.
This feature makes TriCaster's virtual set system
FIGURE 291
especially powerful. Talent can trigger one macro
by moving their hand (for example) into a Hotspot, another by moving it out; and each
source supports 8 hotspots.

Do you have a question about the TriCaster Mini and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
Can the switcher have a background still with PPT slides over top rightside of frame, and then have live camera feed on left?
Yes, the NewTek TriCaster Mini can display a background still with PowerPoint slides on the right side of the frame and a live camera feed on the left. It supports compositing live and video-on-demand inputs, including PowerPoint slides from a connected computer. The system allows for chroma key operations and mixing multiple video sources, enabling such a layout.

my tricaster only has one KEY option and two DSK options and 4 Mix Effect options. is there a way to add more of these items into my tricaster layout?
The TriCaster Mini includes Key layers in M/Es, which function similarly to Downstream Key (DSK) layers but are embedded upstream in the Mix Effect (M/E) output. However, the provided context does not mention the ability to add more KEY, DSK, or Mix Effect options beyond what is already available in the system.

Thank you for answering my question. There is a buzz on the output of our Tricaster410. Not sure why this is happening now.
A possible cause of a buzz or distortion on the output of a NewTek TriCaster Mini could be incorrect audio gain settings in the Output Configuration. Specifically, the gain controls for STREAM 1 and STREAM 2 may need to be adjusted. Setting the gain to -20 can eliminate distortion and align the output level with the TriCaster MASTER.
