Hint: Although the GAIN control is shown for other source types, it really only has any
effect on inputs configured as Mic types in TriCaster's audio input source selector.
Push the small
ON
for Mic sources.
Two larger buttons labeled
positioned below the knob; that is, above each of the eight
faders (Figure 381). These two buttons are outside the
Knob Set group, and thus independent of the mode
established by the of Knob Set selectors.
That's just a wordy way of explaining how it is that a
always toggles the Solo feature for its respective source; and likewise the
buttons always mute or un-mute them – even when you might be in a different mode.
Hint: As with most convenient rules, there is one exception to the above. If the SOLO and
ON buttons are unresponsive, check to see if the
button on the control surface) is lit; if it is, turn it off.
At the time of writing, multi-selection of Solo is not supported on the Artist Mix
surface (though it can be performed in the TriCaster user interface).
Two other small buttons sit just to the left of each fader strip. These are labeled

. This button (with the earlier caveat about
N
toggles the Follow feature on and off for the designated TriCaster
audio source.
Having covered the basic control functions and settings, let's advance
to consider the tools available in different Knob Set modes.

Can the switcher have a background still with PPT slides over top rightside of frame, and then have live camera feed on left?

Yes, the NewTek TriCaster Mini can display a background still with PowerPoint slides on the right side of the frame and a live camera feed on the left. It supports compositing live and video-on-demand inputs, including PowerPoint slides from a connected computer. The system allows for chroma key operations and mixing multiple video sources, enabling such a layout.

The TriCaster Mini includes Key layers in M/Es, which function similarly to Downstream Key (DSK) layers but are embedded upstream in the Mix Effect (M/E) output. However, the provided context does not mention the ability to add more KEY, DSK, or Mix Effect options beyond what is already available in the system.

Thank you for answering my question. There is a buzz on the output of our Tricaster410. Not sure why this is happening now.

A possible cause of a buzz or distortion on the output of a NewTek TriCaster Mini could be incorrect audio gain settings in the Output Configuration. Specifically, the gain controls for STREAM 1 and STREAM 2 may need to be adjusted. Setting the gain to -20 can eliminate distortion and align the output level with the TriCaster MASTER.
