Cabling of PCI expansion modules
If a PCI expansion module is installed in a server blade, you will have to connect
the PCI port to an external device on the back of the rack. To route the cable
from the front to the back of the rack, use the side slots of the rack with a cable
bezel as shown in the figure below. You may also route the cable to the back of
the rack, using the space below the blade server chassis.
Server blades with SCSI boards installed via PCI expansion modules can only
be installed in slots 5 and 6 of the system. This is why about 100 mm of space
is required in front of the server due to the bend radius of the SCSI cable.
