2-way server blade
The 2-way server blade combines the core components of a conventional server
in a hot-swappable slide-in module with one or two Intel® Xeon™ processors,
one or two SCSI hard disk drives, and up to 12 GB RAM. The 2-way server
blade occupies one slot in the blade server chassis. It can be installed in combi-
nation with other PRIMERGY BX600 server blade models.
Processors The 2-way server blade can be fitted with one or two 2.8 GHz to
3.2 GHz Intel Xeon processors with 1 MB third-level cache.
RAM The 2-way server blade has three memory banks. These can be fitted
with 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB or 4 GB memory, each consisting of two
DDR-SDRAM modules. This allows a maximum memory configu-
ration of 12 GB. ECC with memory scrubbing and a hot-spare
memory bank are standard.

LAN availability The 2-way server blade offers two 1-gigabit LAN channels. Usually
two channels are connected to the switch blades. Each switch blade
has ten 1-gigabit downlink ports for connection to one of the LAN
channels of the server blade and three uplink ports for
10/100/1000 Base TX.
Fibre Channel The 2-way server blade can be fitted with up to two 2Gbit/sec Fibre
Channel I/O ports. This requires that an FC daughter card be installed
in the server blade. To enable use of the Fibre Channel functionality,
at least one FC pass-through blade must be installed in the system.
PCI expansion The 2-way server blade can be fitted with a PCI expansion module for
module installing a full-height, half-length PCI card. The PCI expansion
module occupies the slot for the second internal SCSI hard disk
module.
