Installation and initial operation
The Fibre Channel pass-thru Blade
A Fibre Channel (FC) pass-thru blade provides 10 ports for the bypass
connection between FC daughter boards (see
page
02-BX600-98) and optical
transceivers for serial FC I/O and general-purpose I/O signals. An FC pass-thru
blade also provides LEDs for each FC port to indicate the link status.

If one or more server blades are equipped with FC daughter boards for
connection via Fibre Channel, at least one FC pass-thru blade must be
installed.
