Calibrating 4 mA Output
1.
Connect the mA receiving device to the HydroRanger 200.
2.
Put the HydroRanger 200 into PROGRAM mode.
3.
Set P911–mA Output Value to 4.0.
4.
View the mA level on the receiving device.
5.
If there is a discrepancy,
a.Attach ammeter to HydroRanger 200 mA output.
b.Access P214, Index 1 (for mA output 1) or 2 (for mA output 2). Press CLEAR and
ENTER
c.Enter the exact value displayed on the ammeter into P214 (Index 1 or 2).
d.The ammeter should then read exactly 4.00 mA.
The unit is now calibrated for 4 mA for the receiving device.
Calibrating 20 mA Output
1.
Connect the mA receiving device to the HydroRanger 200.
2.
Put the HydroRanger 200 into PROGRAM mode.
3.
Set P911–mA Output Value to 20.0.
4.
View the mA level on the receiving device.
5.
If there is a discrepancy,
a.Attach ammeter to HydroRanger 200 mA output.
b.Access P215, Index 1 (for mA output 1) or 2 (for mA output 2). Press CLEAR and
ENTER
c.Enter the exact value displayed on the ammeter into P215 (Index 1 or 2).
d.The ammeter should then read exactly 20.00 mA.
The unit is now calibrated for 20 mA for the receiving device.
Verifying the mA Range
Checks that the external device can track the entire 4 to 20 mA range sent by the
HydroRanger 200.
1.
Use P920 to put the HydroRanger 200 into Simulation mode (see page 83).
2.
Run the simulation through one complete fill / empty cycle.
3.
View P911–mA Output Value to verify that it tracks to the simulation.
4.
View the mA value reported on the external equipment to verify that it also tracks to
the simulation.
