Modular L3 Ethernet Switch User's Guide
Backup Designated Router – The OSPF interface is the backup designated router.
Other Designated Router – Other routers are the designated and backup routers.
♦ Designated Router – The IP address of the designated router.
♦ Backup Desig. Router – The IP address of the backup designated router.
♦ Interface Authentication Key – The interface authentication key.
♦ Authentication Type – The interface authentication type. The options are None or Password.
♦ Metric Value – The metric for this type of service on the interface.
To edit OSPF Parameter fields:
1.
Display the OSPF Interface Table.
2.
Select an entry in the table.
3.
Click
. The OSPF Interface Table Edit window opens.
4.
Edit the selected table entry fields and click
5.
Click
. When the Status field displays "Finished!", the fields are confirmed as modified.
RIP
The RIP menu has the following menu options:
♦ Parameters.
♦ Interface Parameters.
♦ RIP Filter.
Parameters
To display RIP Parameters:
♦ Select Router > IP > RIP > Parameters. The RIP Parameters window opens:

The RIP Parameters window displays the following:
♦ Administrative Status – The RIP administrative status in the router. Enabled means the RIP
process is active on at least one interface. Disabled means the process is not active on any
interfaces
. The OSPF Interface Table opens.
