External access

You can use the browser built into this machine to access web servers via a network to store and display data.
Access external services and display web application screens
Print files stored on external servers
Note
Only web applications that have already been linked can be displayed. Websites on the Internet, for example, cannot be
accessed.

Registering connection destinations

1.
Tap the display area of authentication information at the top left of the Home screen, and then login as a
machine administrator.
2.
Tap [Device].
3.
Tap [App Settings] > [Web Applications Setup].
4.
Tap [Server Setup], and then choose the number of the server to be registered.
5.
Enter the server URL, and then tap [OK].
Note
To connect with a specified version of the web browser for external access, specify the version between the protocol type
(http or https) and the colon. For example, enter "http-v4://www.example.com" to connect using version 4.
After specifying the version of the web browser in the URL and connecting, the [Web Applications Version] setting is not
available.
6.
Configure other items if necessary.
[Server Name]
Configure the display name of the connection destination.
[URL]
The URL of the server is displayed.
[Description]
Configure the description of the connection destination.
[Use User ID]
Configure whether to use a user ID to access external services.
Note
A user ID and password must be entered during access even when [No] has been configured.
If this setting is [No] when [Login Type] is [Log In to Remote Accounts], user information that has been authenticated by
this machine is used to access external services.
You can configure whether to display an authentication confirmation screen when accessing an external service. Refer to
"[When Sending User Details]" (P.120).
