Targets on the landside
On the landside, either a user-defined position, a lane, a parking position or the lashing platform
can be approached as a target.
Note
It is always assumed that parked containers on the landside are removed for the next operation.
Stacking on the landside is therefore not possible.
Learn a lane, parking or lashing position
Before the position of a lane, parking or lashing platform can be approached, it must be saved
in the system. Only one position each can be saved for the parking and lashing platforms. 99
storage locations are available for lanes.
The positions described above are saved in the file "TargetPos.txt" in the SWAYCONTROL
directory and are learned as follows:
1. Travel manually to the position to be saved
2. Select "Save position"
– Only necessary for lanes:
– Only necessary for the parking and lashing positions:
– Necessary for all positions:
3. Wait for confirmation
The corresponding control bit or lane number must remain set until the POS_SAVED status
bit returns the confirmation that the position has been learned or saved (for all positions).
After the confirmation has been received, the control bit or lane number must be reset or set
to 0 for learning.
Travel to the lashing platform
If the USE_LASH_PLATF control bit is set, the lashing platform is approached as an
intermediate target in the SAM and POS modes. To travel away from the lashing position and
to the final target position, the TRAVEL and USE_LASH_PLATF control bits must be reset and
TRAVEL must be set once again. Travel to the parking position has a higher priority than travel
to the lashing platform. The lashing platform is not approached when the starting position is
located between the target and the lashing position.
Travel to the parking position
If both control bits for the stack type are reset, semi-automatic mode (SAM) or positioning mode
(POS) is used for travel to the parking position.

The LEARN_POS_LANE input value instructs the system which lane storage space
(1-99) is to be used to save the approached position. If lanes are learned one after the
other, the LEARN_POS_LANE value must be assigned the value zero again between
two operations. Specifying the lane number is sufficient for saving.
Example:
Lanes 1,2,3 are learned with LEARN_POS_LANE = 0,1,0,2,0,3,0 and not 1,2,3.
To save the position, the appropriate control bit (LEARN_PARK_POS or
LEARN_LASH_PLATF) must be set in the control word STW1_PLC_Targets.
The brakes (BRAKE_CLOSED control bit) must be applied during the learning process.
