Name
Communication Server 1000 —You cannot edit the extension number. The handset obtains
the extension from the server and it appears on the info line when you select this option.
Avaya BCM —You must configure the extension number here in the Configuration Menu for
it to appear on the handset in standby mode and in Caller ID.
Note: *Asterisk indicates the default value.

Lock keys

If you enable the Keypad Lock option, the keypad locks immediately. To unlock the keypad,
press FCN and then the # key.

User profiles

Select and configure your user profile.
Ring Settings
From the Ring Settings menu, you can configure the ring for three separate functions. Use
Telephone Ring for usual telephony functions. Use the Auxiliary Rings to configure different
ringing patterns for OAI applications.
Telephone Ring
Select Telephone Ring to configure a distinctive ring style, volume, and sequence. Select from
an audible ring or a vibrate-only ring or a vibrate ring along with or followed by an audible ring.
Ring Cadence
Select Ring Cadence to configure the rhythm of the ring. You can select a preprogrammed ring
cadence or opt to obtain the cadence from the PBX. The PBX option utilizes distinctive rings
sent by the PBX while allowing you to configure unique rings for auxiliary applications.
• Off: silent
• PBX: PBX determines ring cadence
(For example, the PBX can send rings that differentiate between internal and external
calls.)
• Continuous: rings continually until answered
