1-7-1 Upgrading the firmware on the main PCB

Firmware upgrading requires the following tools:
Compact Flash (Products manufactured by SANDISK are recommended.)
NOTE
When writing data to a new Compact Flash from a computer, be sure to format it in advance.
Procedure
1. Turn the power switch off and disconnect the
power plug.
2. Remove the middle right cover.
Insert it with its rear side toward the front side
of the machine.
3. Insert Compact Flash in a notch hole of the
copier.
4. Insert the power plug and turn the power
switch on. Upgrading firmware starts for 3
minutes.
Caution:
Never turn the main switch off during
upgrading.
5. "Completed" is displayed on the touch panel
when upgrading is complete.
6. Turn the power switch off and disconnect the
power plug.
7. Remove Compact Flash from the copier and
refit the middle right cover.
8. Insert the power plug and turn the power
switch on.
