Causes
1. Dirty contact glass.
2. Dirty or flawed drum.
3. Deformed or worn cleaning blade.
4. Dirty scanner mirror.
5. Dirty main charger wire.

1. Flawed drum.
2. Dirty developing section.
3. Leaking main charger housing.
4. Leaking separation electrode.
(8) One side of the
copy image is
darker than the
other.
Causes
1. Dirty main charger wire.
2. Defective exposure lamp.
Causes
1. Dirty contact glass.
2. Dirty or flawed drum.
3. Deformed or worn cleaning blade.
4. Dirty scanner mirror.
5. Dirty main charger wire.
Clean the contact glass.
Perform the drum refresh operation. If the drum is flawed, replace
the drum unit.
Replace the cleaning blade.
Clean the scanner mirror.
Clean the main charger wire or, if it is extremely dirty, replace it.
Causes
1. Flawed drum.
2. Dirty developing section.
3. Leaking main charger housing.
4. Leaking separation electrode.
Replace the drum unit.
Clean any part contaminated with toner in the developing section.
Clean the main charger wire, grid and shield.
Clean the separation electrode.
Causes
1. Dirty main charger wire.
2. Defective exposure lamp.
Clean the wire or, if it is extremely dirty, replace it.
Check if the exposure lamp light is distributed evenly. If not, replace
the exposure lamp (see page 1-6-25).
